United Methodist Men

UMM Meet at 6:30 on the First Tuesday of every month where we share dinner with the UWF.

I wanted to take a moment to personally reach out and express my deepest gratitude to the church for your ongoing
support of the United Methodist Men’s Golf Tournament. We were gifted with beautiful weather as we celebrated this
year’s honoree: Mr. Ray Rich. Your generosity and support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate you whether
you were a tournament or hole sponsor, you volunteered or you played. We couldn’t have done it without every single one
of you! And, because of you, we will continue to be able to financially support several worthy missions this upcoming year.
Thank you so much! – Robert Rizoti & UMM

Vision: The ministry of men in the local church is defined as a core group of men, partnering with their pastor, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. Everyone has different gifts, graces and areas of interest. Therefore, opportunities for participation would include diverse ministries of the church, such as prayer groups, missions, Bible studies, retreats, workshops/seminars, small groups in the Wesleyan tradition, leading and participating on committees, teaching Sunday school classes, youth ministries, scouting, mentoring and assisting in leading worship service. The focus is not inward, concentrating only on those who attend a set meeting, but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth.

Mission: Our mission is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others.

Goal: Our goal is to empower the ministry of Jesus Christ through men within the congregations of the UMC.

Local Connection: Our men’s group supports many local, regional, and global missions. These include Rise Against Hunger, Samaritan Kitchen, Wilkes ADAP, Circles of Care, local Scout troops, Red Cross Blood Drive, Sewing Bee team, Hand in Hand Ministries, Home Mission Fund, mission teams in local and international ministry, and other worthwhile projects.  Our major source of funding for these missions is our annual golf tournament held on the 2nd Thursday of each June. For more information contact the church office.
